Pastor Lonnie Qualls was born in northwest Georgia near Chattanooga Tennessee. He was saved at age 11 at Camp Joy, a ministry of Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, and was called to the ministry at age 16.

 

He has been married to his wife Diane for 34 years. They have 3 married children, Ben, Mary, and Sarah, and have 5 grandchildren.

He received his B.A. in Church Ministries from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida in 1989. He has been a pastor for over 16 years, and has served as an associate pastor, an assistant pastor, a Christian school administrator, and as the Director of the Shenandoah Boy’s Ranch Christian Home for boys.

He has been at Central since 2003.

 

 




In January of 2011, Pastor Lynn C. Gordon and his wife, Sara, joined Central Baptist Church. Bro. Gordon serves as the assistant to Pastor Qualls in a part-time capacity. He serves in various areas throughout the ministry and aligns it with a genuine compassion for people.   

            Bro. Gordon was recruited and assigned to develop the Spiritual Care Department in a full-time basis at the Lindner Center of HOPE in Mason, Ohio in June 2008. The Lindner Center is a private, non-profit, state-of-the-science mental health hospital that helps thousands of individuals in the Tri-State area and abroad who suffer from mental illness.  As a member of the treatment team, he provides spiritual support counseling, facilitates group therapy sessions, and is a support to the entire staff of over 300 employees.

            Pastor Gordon has held three other associate pastor positions in Washington, Louisiana, and Ohio since entering the ministry in 1993. Prior to coming to Central Baptist Church,  Bro. Gordon served as the associate pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Middletown for several years under the leadership of Pastor Roger D. Green.

            In addition to his roles at Central Baptist Church and the Lindner Center of HOPE, Bro., Gordon is a volunteer chaplain at Cedar Village in Mason. He has traveled to foreign countries including, Guyana, Thailand, and The Philippines to serve in short term missions projects.  He enjoys spending time with his family, sports, and helping people.

            The Gordon’s were married in Seattle, Washington in 1986 and have two grown children, Curtis and Allison; and a daughter in law, Katie.  They make their home in Middletown.
